Oz and I came to the United States looking for opportunity and adventure. We graduated from college and dove into the world of corporate America. Back in 2009, we had this little dream of bringing the empanadas we love to life and sharing them with everyone. Life happened though, our kids were little, our daughter just a toddler at that time, so we kept going with our corporate paths.

Over the years, we traveled as a family, exploring new corners of the world. And somewhere along the way, during one of those trips, we rediscovered that spark—the idea of bringing our own empanadas to life. Now that our daughter's off to college and our son's a little older, it felt like the perfect time to chase that dream rather than look back someday wishing we had.

So that's how Señor Oz Empanadas was born, right here in the heart of Kansas City, a blend of our South American roots and our Midwestern home. It's a dream that ties together who we are, from the nickname "Oz" to the flavors we love. Every empanada we make is crafted with that same care: natural, fresh ingredients, no additives or preservatives, and a whole lot of love from our kitchen to yours.
